Dragonfly Sunrise 0780

The immature male Blue Dasher Dragonfly (Pachydiplax longipennis) resembles the female with its reddish brown eyes and white face. They commonly perch conspicuously on vegetation near the water, with their wings canted forward. The naiads of this species will tolerate water with low oxygen content. This trait is used by Florida biologists as a possible indicator of low water quality.
